Epilogue
In our last post, we completed the series of the Red-Letter Words of Yeshua. But clearly, the story continues. In my next series, we will be following the Life & Times of Sha’ul and His Letters. I did shorten the title to Sha’ul and His Letters. We will come across some more Red-Letter Words of Yeshua in the Book of Acts. So, I will point them out then. There is a Prologue to that new series which will be available on July 30, 2023, so I won’t go into any details on that series here.
Instead, I wanted to close this series by reviewing some of the closing passages from Yochanan. His account includes this statement as to his purpose in recording the events of Yeshua’s ministry.
30 In the presence of the talmidim, Yeshua performed many other miracles which have not been recorded in this book. 31 But these which have been recorded are here so that you may trust that Yeshua is the Messiah, the Son of God, and that by this trust you may have life because of who he is. [1]
He concludes his account by indicating that he and the other Gospel writers had been able to capture in written words only a small fraction of all the miracles, healings, praying, and preaching that Yeshua did while on this earth.
25 But there are also many other things Yeshua did, and if they were all to be recorded, I don’t think the whole world could contain the books that would have to be written! [2]
