In my last post, we continued to examine the Accomplishments of the Suffering Servant in Yesha’yahu53:11. In this post, we continue to examine the Accomplishments of the Suffering Servant in Yesha’yahu53:12.
The Servant Died and Rose from the Grave
12 Therefore I will assign Him a share with the great, He will divide the spoil with the mighty, for having exposed Himself to death and being counted among the sinners, while actually bearing the sin of many and interceding for the offenders. ~ Isaiah 53:12 (CJB)
Yesha’yahu 53 indicates that the Servant would die and yet would somehow prolong His days (verse 10) and receive a reward from Adonai. This speaks to His resurrection.
Returning to the theme at the beginning of the prophecy (52:13), the suffering of the Servant will give way to His exaltation. Yeshua’s suffering culminated in the execution but gave way to the resurrection.
Finally, Yeshua is the Successful One. Yeshua received the spoil, the treasure: you and me. Notice that He not only secured my salvation but maintains it as an intercessor. The writer to the Hebrews tells us He is totally able to deliver those who approach God through Him; since He is alive forever and thus forever able to intercede on their behalf. ~ Hebrews 7:25 (CJB) Therefore, He not only succeeded in securing our salvation, but He also succeeds as He works out our sanctification. Yeshua will see you through until He receives you in glory. What a magnificent Savior.
Other authors of the Brit Hadashah have these words of encouragement:
42 A second time he went off and prayed. “My Father, if this cup cannot pass away unless I drink it, let what you want be done.” ~ Matthew 26:42 (CJB)
36 “But now,” He said, if you have a wallet or a pack, take it; and if you don’t have a sword, sell your robe to buy one. 37 For I tell you this: the passage from the Tanakh that says, ‘He was counted with transgressors,’ has to be fulfilled in Me; since what is happening to Me has a purpose.” ~ Luke 22:36-37 (CJB)
34 Yeshua said, “Father, forgive them; they don’t understand what they are doing.” They divided up His clothes by throwing dice. ~ Luke 23:34 (CJB)
14 I am the good shepherd; I know My own, and My own know me – 15 just as the Father knows Me, and I know the Father – and I lay down My life on behalf of the sheep. 16 Also, I have other sheep which are not from this pen; I need to bring them, and they will hear my voice; and there will be one flock, one shepherd. 17 “This is why the Father loves Me: because I lay down my life – in order to take it up again! 18 No one takes it away from Me; on the contrary, I lay it down of my own free will. I have the power to lay it down, and I have the power to take it up again. This is what My Father commanded me to do.” ~ John 10:14-18 (CJB)
The phrase other sheep is a reference to Gentile Believers.
34 Who punishes them? Certainly not the Messiah Yeshua, who died and – more than that – has been raised, is at the right hand of God and is actually pleading on our behalf! ~ Romans 8:34 (CJB)
6 Though He was in the form of God, He did not regard equality with God something to be possessed by force. 7 On the contrary, He emptied Himself, in that He took the form of a slave by becoming like human beings are. And when He appeared as a human being, 8 He humbled Himself still more by becoming obedient even to death – death on a stake as a criminal! ~ Philippians 2:6-8 (CJB)
25 and consequently, 28 so also the Messiah, having been offered once to bear the sins of many, will appear a second time, not to deal with sin, but to deliver those who are eagerly waiting for Him. ~ Hebrews 9:28 (CJB)
In my next post, we will complete our verse-by-verse examination of The Suffering Servant ~ Part 14 in Yesha’yahu 53 by a recap of the key takeaways.

Yeshua received the spoil, the treasure: you and me. So amazing that we are His treasure. Sometimes I wonder if He feels cheated?

At times, I’m sure He does. But then again, He knows the beginning and the end.
